About Me

My name is Katie and I'm a fully qualified, highly experienced, Ofsted registered childminder.

I started my career 19 years ago after leaving school and completing a modern apprenticeship in childcare. I hold an NVQ level 3 in early years education and I have spent 17 years working in private day nurseries caring for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 4 years.

I live with my husband Ian and our little boy Thomas.

Once our baby Thomas arrived, I decided that I wanted to be able to watch him achieve all his early years milestones, so I decided to start my own professional childcare service from my home.

I have always loved looking after children and have enjoyed taking them to their next steps ready for school. I have full knowledge of the EYFS, am paediatric first aid trained, hold an up to date DBS certificate and I have also got a food hygiene certificate. I love to help children learn new skills by letting them take part in activities which are completely led by their own interests.

No day at Fun House Childminding is ever the same, from taking lots of walks around the local community, to attending weekly play group sessions, to getting wet and messy with lots of craft activities in our completely child friendly play room.

I have a wide variety of resources available for the children and also a very safe and sheltered child friendly back garden where the children can explore a mud kitchen and play house or explore the rock garden where they may find a few surprises!!

I take great pleasure in helping your little ones grow and learn until they are ready to spread their wings ready for their next adventure.
